Hello, cake lovers. Sorry I am a couple days behind this week. I am blessed with so much business that I haven’t had time this week to update my blog! This week I have lots of fun firsts. I can’t wait to share them with you next week.
In the meantime, check out what was cooking in my kitchen last week…
Here’s a birthday cake that would work for either gender and any time of year.
This one was 4th of July theme for a birthday boy.
How about a prescription for rest, relaxation, and fun?! That’s just what this retiring pharmacist got!
This one was for two babies from the same family that were being baptized. This used an older technique called Cornelli lace, which you can see how to do here.
Well, that wraps up June! I can’t believe summer break is halfway over already. I am loving all my time with my kids. I hope you are all making the most of your summer and enjoying every minute!
My weekly Frozen cake. This one had a fun twist though! I used pearled Sixlets to make it as girly as possible. They also made the coordinating cupcakes extra pretty. I left space on the top for the mom to add her Frozen topper she bought.
This one was more exciting inside than out. It was chocolate chocolate chip cake, filled with chocolate buttercream and chocolate chips, iced in chocolate buttercream, and topped with more chocolate chips. I advised the mom that it should only be eaten with a cup of coffee or a large glass of milk.
This one was to celebrate a first communion. The recipient requested no pink. I had so much fun making all the spring flowers. I used what was actually growing in my yard for inspiration.
This cake was for an old friend of mine. I’m talking listening to New Kids, going to Freshman formal as a group old friend. What an honor to do the cake for her son’s baptism. Lucky me.
This cake was for three family members’ birthdays and one of the birthday boy’s ordainment. What a special day for their family!
